Hello! As I don’t have a particular topic or theme to post about this time, I thought I might simply share a few of the more interesting spreader sets that I have been able to purchase recently:
This Chinese Takeout spreader house set by Centrum has been on my list of desired sets for probably about ten years now — and I finally saw one for sale online a few weeks ago: be still my beating heart…. Finally, this one is mine. What a wonderful design, with the whole shrimp, fortune cookie, takeout box and teapot, on top of a takeout box filled with fried rice, with chopsticks alongside.
This Boston Warehouse Salsa Buddies Spreader House set is something I wasn’t even aware existed until I saw it on Ebay recently. No original box, but my official list of spreader set names obtained from the BW company made it easy to determine the name of the set. What could be more delightful than the shades- and sombrero-wearing farm animals with mariachi band instruments atop La Cantina? Simply wonderful!
The Boston Warehouse Mariachi Frogs spreader set is another incredibly fun set that I had been looking for for some time. The attention to detail is rather amazing in the design of this set, with the hats and brightly colored Mexican clothing — and fun drinks — of the two-tone frogs. Plus the ’90s-style shades on the left-most frog. Truly inspired.
Boston Warehouse Party Dress spreader set is a glamorous, sparkly set that I was happy to stumble across.
This set of Sea Captains by Artmark is a set I’ve long wished for. It didn’t have the original case, but it’s such a seldom-seen set that I didn’t care. Ahoy-hoy!
Boston Warehouse named this set “Barnyard Buddies Vacation Spreader Set” if this set was in the right case. The vacation part of the name seems right, with the camera, golf and snorkel set, but I don’t know if flamingoes, ‘gators, pelicans and lobsters(?) are part of many barnyards — at least not in the Midwest (maybe it’s different down south…). But it’s still a pretty fun set nonetheless.
Anyway, those are a few of my favorite finds that I’ve been fortunate enough to come across lately. There really is a huge variety of different designs of cheese spreader sets out there to collect. Thanks for reading!
